The actual text of the story is in German, the introduction, notes and everything else has been written in English.

"This edition of Goethe's Iphigenie has been prepared largely with reference to the needs of college students who have become sufficiently familiar with the principles of the German language to read this drama from the literary point of view, as one of the great masterpieces of Goethe's genius. This text is based upon the Weimar edition of Iphigenie, Vol. X. The deviations from this standard edition are chiefly those of orthography, in which the Prussian system of spelling has been adopted. The punctuation has also, to some extent, been modernized according to present requirements."
